RIGLER ELEMENTARY FREE FOOD MARKET VOLUNTEER

The Rigler Elementary Free food pantry provides community members with food and other items to support healthy youth and families. Through this opportunity, volunteers can positively impact the community, build work skills, and get involved in their community.

The primary duties include

  • Unload, stock and set up the food for distribution that needs to be restocked and repacked in an orderly fashion.

    Move boxes to store or repackage produce into smaller portions.

  • Welcome and help market clients as they shop

    If possible, give recommendations or suggestions on food, such as cooking techniques or recipes (when available).

    Make sure the market is efficient by keeping a good flow of movement through the market.

    Restock the tables and place signs about the ingredients and the quantities they can take

  • Help the market close up shop for the week.

    Clean and move all food storage containers such as coolers, tables, or shelves.

    Move food into storage such as refrigerators or pantries in a timely manner.

All volunteers must pass a background check provided by the school district.
