LUPE CAMPOS
Associate Director of Preschool Programs
Lupe joined Latino Network in 2015 in a new position on the Early Childhood Education team. She is the Assistant Director of Early Childhood Education, working to support the Juntos Aprendemos and Community Education Worker programs.
Previously, Lupe worked in Hood River for a Head Start program for five years, serving in a variety of positions there including teacher and manager. Through her work with Head Start, Lupe discovered a new passion of not only teaching children, but also working with parents to equip them with the tools to be their child’s first teacher.
For Lupe, her heritage as a Latina is an important part of her life, and she is excited to be working in the Latino community in Portland. Her father is from San Juan De Los Lagos, Jalisco and her mother is from Mexico City.
The first in her family to graduate from college, she earned a B.A. in Early Childhood Education from Oregon State University (Go Beavers!). She has continued to deepen her knowledge through Head Start trainings in the past several years.
In her spare time, she enjoys hanging out with her nieces and nephews. She is also focused on staying healthy this year by working out and eating right.
